University of Tirana and Epoka University sign the collaboration agreement

On February 14, 2014, the Rector of Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Remzi Altin visited the Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Dhori Kule. During the meeting the Rectors discussed the main challenges of higher education in Albania, focusing especially on the need to augment the cooperation between the public and private higher education institutions in terms of sharing of best experiences and mutually contributing to policy making in the country. Rector Kule highlighted that higher education in Albania needs immediate attention and he praised the recent reform undertaken by the Ministry of Education and Sports. Furthermore, he stressed that he expects Epoka University to give serious input to reform and that the two Universities will work closely to provide the best recommendations in this context.

In order to enhance and reaffirm the already existing cooperation between the two Universities, the discussion was finalized with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation, in the context of which the two Universities pledge to cooperate in education and research in areas of mutual interest and encourage direct contact and cooperation between faculty members, departments, research institutions and students.

Specific areas of cooperation between the two universities may include among other, exchange of faculty and students, joint research activities and lectures, participation in seminars and academic meetings and exchange of published academic materials and other information.
