“Epoka Team" reached Final Stage of Global Valuation Olympiad

On September 4th 2015, final Stage of Global Valuation Olympiad was held in Greensea Capital (Financial Services Company) and Global Banking Training headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, UK. The team composed of Banking and Finance Students in particular, Mei Mahila (team leader), Ditmir Sufaj, Eda Ozalan and Emiljano Hysa, was represented by its team leader in the final stage of competition.

The Olympiad was structured in three stages. In the first stage, held online on April 16th 2015 for business valuation tests, there were 200 group members, out of which 20 would reach the second stage. “Epoka Team” was among the 20 groups that reached the 2nd stage. The second stage required an M&A (Merger & Acquisition) Case Study. “Epoka Team” took into study the merging of LVMH and KERING companies, which was again delivered to the organizers by email on July 7th 2015. The case study of “Epoka Team” was highly acknowledged by the organizers, which made it possible for the team to reach the final stage.

Under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Urmat Ryskulov, the team was qualified as Top 10 among 7000 worldwide candidates, and would be represented by Mei Mahila (team leader) on September 4th 2015, in London, UK. In the final stage, Epoka team was the only team composed of bachelor program students among finalists of the competition. The work was highly evaluated as professional, doable and realistic by the professional jury and the presentation was referred as the best in the special acknowledgment the jury held for our team. Epoka Team was ranked as 2nd among the top 10 teams reaching the final stage of the Valuation Olympiad, which reflects a high achievement for our university and our department.
