Epoka Academicians Participated in the 14th EBES Conference

Epoka Academicians participated in 14th Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) Conference, which was held on October 23-25, 2014, in Barcelona, Spain. EBES is a scholarly association for scholars involved in the practice and study of economics, finance, and business worldwide. It was founded in 2008 and since 2012, has been organizing three conferences every year. In 2011, EBES began publishing two academic journals. One of those journals, Eurasian Business Review – EBR, is in the field of industry and business, and the other one, Eurasian Economic Review – EER, is in fields of economics and finance.Both journals are published bi- annually by Springer and currently indexed in the Cabell’s Directory, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, RePEc, EBSCO Business Source Complete, ProQuest ABI/Inform, IBSS: International Bibliography of the Social Sciences, and EconLit. Furthermore, in 2014 EBES proceedings are already indexed in the Thompson Reuters Proceedings Index. More than 30 nations were represented at the conference, from Japan to Australia, from the USA and Mexico to Europe, Africa and Asia.

Epoka University academicians participated in many sections by presenting their papers, focused on issues related to the Albanian economy; such as “The Fisher Effect: Albanian Application”, presented by, Ms. Mergleda Hodo. “Common Characteristics of Financial Development on Balkan Region Economies” presented by Ms. Erinda Imeraj. “Implementation of Accounting Standards: Financial Reporting in Albania” presented by Ms. Sonila Gruda. Epoka University academicians shared different ideas, making valuable suggestions to other participants from all over the world and created new contacts. Epoka University was well represented during this conference and many personalities were invited to come and visit our university during the proceeding events.
